Daaaaamn, so this is it. The last listening blog. Wow. I gotta say. This class has been… an experience to say the least. Some Covid scares. Some banger tunes. That one girl lying to me about not having snapchat. (Ouch). It’s been a fun ride. Anyway for the last listening blog I decided to "Thrift Shop" Mackelmore & Lewis. Not for any particular reason. I didn’t listen to it much growing up. It’s a big boy song. Which is why it was such a neat and fun experience to listen to it again all these years. When I was a mere child this song would make me uncomfortable. But now that I’m an old man going on 18. It’s fun! Enjoyable. And it suits my taste in music that I’ve developed. I find it fascinating to see how my taste in music has changed over the years. It really has been a long journey for me. I don’t have a favorite song or band. I am the worst person to ask about music trivia. I know next to nothing about music theory. And I c ant create a good playlist worth a damn. But thrift shop is just… there. I like this song. After all these years its finally growing on me.
Oh my gosh I totally forgot about this song! This was actually my childhood, I remember watching videos where people would change the lyrics to be a joke. Thanks for reminding me of this gem! And sorry about that girl, but I guess there's other fish in the sea. (Also, how do you know she lied?!)
ReplyDeleteokay, I have never laughed at a blog post. you might not be able to make a good playlist, but you sure know how to get your word count in while also being funny. Good job!
