LB 6

Alright. Listening blog six. Now we’re getting into some recognizable genres, before I begin my “review”. I poked around a bit and looked at some of the different songs. And maybe I’m strange, but this week’s batches just weren’t clicking with me. Some of the older songs from the previous chapters just had more spice, more personality. Maybe it’s because I’m becoming used to the rock n roll, guitar led genre. But I’ve definitely got a stronger connection with the previous song choices. Now to actually review the song I chose for this week. I chose the supremes, you can’t hurry love. This is a great song. A constant theme of my song choices I’ve been that they’ve always been fun songs to groove to. And this is the perfect pinnacle of that mindset. This song IS a song you’d hear in the background of an old 90’s movie. This song IS a song people danced to in the 60’s. This song IS a good dancing song. And for that reason alone it’s my favorite out of this week’s batch. The rhythm, the lyrical the sassy black ladies singing along. Oh man. This is a great song. I wrote most of this blog listening to it! Haha!

  1. I like your song choice! This song is such a classic. I've only heard the Phill Collins version of this song so to hear the original was cool. And I thought that a lot of the songs on this list were good! The simplicity of the melodies and lyrics in this time period were just stepping stones to the music we have now. They inspired the future generations to do better. I personally think you can't really appreciate where you are until you know where you've been.
